Studies of Others
Here I am documenting the people I’ve had the chance to truly look at and spend time with. Most of these works are an attempt to maintain a lasting eye contact, explore intimacy and bringing that specific sense of aliveness onto a flat surface.
Some of these positions and angles are inspired by old family portraits and albums; others are inspired by staged and documentary photography. Regardless of the reference, every piece is an attempt to spend time with a person in a still context, letting time pass, but capturing that fleeting moment of their lives.
